## Biography

Kubec Glasmon was a Polish-born American screenwriter. Born Jacob Glassman on 12 August 1897 in Raciąż, he worked as a pharmacist in Chicago before entering screenwriting.

He collaborated with John Bright on crime stories. Their unpublished novel *Beer and Blood* formed the basis for the screenplay of *The Public Enemy* (1931), for which they received an Academy Award nomination for Best Story. Glasmon contributed to other films including *Blonde Crazy* (1931), *Three on a Match* (1932) and *The Glass Key* (1935). He was married to actress Joan Blair and died on 13 March 1938 in Los Angeles.
