Kurt Smeaton is a Canadian television writer and producer. He began his career as an actor, appearing as a regular cast member in the sketch comedy series *The Holmes Show*, before moving into writing and producing.

Smeaton has written episodes of *Schitt's Creek* (2015) and *Kim's Convenience* (2016), and served as co-executive producer on both series. He created, wrote and executive produced the comedy *Children Ruin Everything* (2022).

His work on *Schitt's Creek* earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2020, as well as recognition from the Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of Canada.
