## Biography

Lacey Duke is a Canadian director and filmmaker. Originally from Toronto, she studied film and image arts at university with a minor in anthropology. After internships in Toronto, London and New York, she worked as a production assistant and coordinator before directing low-budget music videos.

She made her television directorial debut on the series *Queen Sugar* (2016). Duke has since directed episodes of *Insecure* (2020) and *A Black Lady Sketch Show* (2019–2021). Her music-video work includes Janelle Monáe’s *Dirty Computer* (2018) and videos for artists such as Summer Walker and H.E.R. She has also directed commercials and an Emmy-nominated Netflix promotional spot, “A Great Day in Hollywood” (2019). Duke is based in Atlanta.
