## Biography

Lalit Pandit is an Indian film composer, best known as one half of the music director duo Jatin-Lalit alongside his elder brother Jatin Pandit. The brothers come from a musical family originating in Haryana; their father was classical singer Pandit Pratap Narayan and their uncle was vocalist Pandit Jasraj. They received their musical training from their father and began working in Hindi cinema in the early 1990s.

As Jatin-Lalit they composed the scores for numerous successful films of the 1990s and early 2000s, including *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge* (1995), *Yes Boss* (1997), *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai* (1998), *Mohabbatein* (2000), *Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani* (2000) and *Chalte Chalte* (2003). Their work frequently featured in Shah Rukh Khan films and produced several high-selling soundtracks. The duo parted ways professionally around 2006, after which Lalit continued as a solo composer and lyricist on projects such as *Fanaa* (2006) and *Dabangg* (2010).
