## Biography

Lance Bangs is an American filmmaker and music video director. He founded the Flicker Film Festival in Athens, Georgia, in 1990. He has directed music videos for bands including Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Green Day, Arcade Fire, R.E.M., Pavement and many others.

Bangs has been involved in the filming and production of the Jackass television series and its films. His directing credits include episodes of the series *Better Things* (2016) and *Portlandia* (2011), as well as comedy specials such as *David Cross: Let America Laugh* (2003), *Chelsea Peretti: One of the Greats* (2014) and *Michelle Wolf: Joke Show* (2019). He is married to musician Corin Tucker.
