Lara McDonnell is an Irish actress born on 7 November 2003 in Castleknock, Dublin. She made her screen debut playing the ten-year-old Rosie Dunne in the 2014 film *Love, Rosie*.

McDonnell played the alternating title role in the West End production of *Matilda the Musical* from 2015 to 2016. Subsequent roles include Young Anne Brontë in the 2016 television film *To Walk Invisible*, Alannah in *The Delinquent Season* (2018), Captain Holly Short in *Artemis Fowl* (2020) and Moira in *Belfast* (2021). She also appeared in *Greatest Days* (2023).

She featured on the 2021 *Irish Independent* list of actors to go stellar and returned to the stage in *The Hills of California* in London and on Broadway in 2024.
