## Biography

Larry Morey, also credited as Lawrence L. Morey, was an American lyricist and screenwriter. He was born on 26 March 1905 in Los Angeles, California, and died on 8 May 1971 in Santa Barbara, California.

Morey joined Walt Disney Productions in 1933 after working at Warner Bros. and Paramount. He co-wrote lyrics with Frank Churchill for *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* (1937), including "Heigh-Ho", "I'm Wishing" and "Whistle While You Work", and was credited as a sequence director on the film. He adapted Felix Salten's book for *Bambi* (1942) and co-wrote its score. Other credits include work on *The Reluctant Dragon* (1941) and *So Dear to My Heart* (1948).

Morey received Academy Award nominations for songs from *Bambi* and *So Dear to My Heart*.
