## Biography

Lars-Owe Carlberg was a Swedish production manager and producer. Born on 31 August 1923 in Karlskrona, he began his career as a script supervisor in the mid-1940s and worked as a unit manager and location manager at Sandrews throughout the 1950s.

In 1960 he joined Svensk Filmindustri, where he began a long collaboration with Ingmar Bergman. He served as production manager or producer on numerous Bergman films, including *Persona* (1966), *Hour of the Wolf* (1968), *Shame* (1968), *The Passion of Anna* (1969), *Cries and Whispers* (1972) and *Scenes from a Marriage* (1974). He also appeared in small acting roles in several of Bergman's films. Carlberg died on 23 July 1988 in Eslöv. He was awarded the Ingmar Bergman Award posthumously in 1989.
