László Szabó is a Hungarian actor, film director and screenwriter. Born on 24 March 1936 in Budapest, he left Hungary in 1956 and settled in Paris, where he began appearing in films from 1959.

He is known for roles in French New Wave films, including appearances in several works by Jean-Luc Godard such as *Vivre sa Vie* (1962), *Le Petit Soldat* (1963), *Pierrot le Fou* (1965), *Alphaville* (1965) and *Made in U.S.A.* (1966). Other credits include *Weekend* (1967), *The Confession* (1970), *The Last Metro* (1980), *Full Moon in Paris* (1984), *The Unbearable Lightness of Being* (1988) and *Ismael's Ghosts* (2017). He has also directed and written films in France and Hungary.
