Laura Benson is a British actress based in Paris. She has been resident in France since 1981 and trained at the École des comédiens de Nanterre-Amandiers under Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Romans.

She made her stage and screen debuts in 1986, appearing in Chéreau's productions of *Platonov* and *Hôtel de France*. Her early film roles include parts in Jacques Doillon's *L'Amoureuse* (1987) and Stephen Frears's *Dangerous Liaisons* (1988). She later worked with Alain Resnais on *I Want to Go Home* (1989) and Robert Altman on *Prêt-à-Porter* (1994).

Benson received a Molière nomination in the revelation category for her performance in the play *George*, which she co-wrote and produced. Her later screen credits include the lead role in *Touch Me Not* (2018) and appearances in *Spencer* (2021) and the series *Marie Antoinette* (2022).
