## Biography

Laura Hankin is an American novelist, screenwriter and actress. She graduated from Princeton University in 2010 and has written several novels, including *Happy and You Know It* (2020), *A Special Place for Women* (2021), *The Daydreams* (2023) and *One-Star Romance* (2024). She also performs sketch comedy and has contributed articles to publications such as HuffPost and McSweeney's.

Hankin wrote the story for the 2026 Netflix film *Don't Say Good Luck*, directed by Julia Hart, and co-wrote the screenplay with Hart and Jordan Horowitz. The film draws on her own experience as a high-school theatre student whose mother was ill with cancer. She also appears in the film in a small role as an English teacher. Her earlier acting credits include a part in the music class band in *While We're Young* (2014) and roles in shorts and television.
