## Biography

Laurence Heath was an American television writer and producer. He began his career in the 1950s under the name Leonard Heideman, contributing scripts and story work to series including *Bonanza*, *Highway Patrol* and *I Led Three Lives*, as well as feature films such as *Canyon Crossroads* (1955).

Heath wrote numerous episodes of *Mission: Impossible* (1966), including "The Mercenaries" (1968) and "Illusion" (1969), and served as producer and story consultant during the series' later seasons. He also wrote for *The Invaders* (1967), *Mannix* (1967), *Hawaii Five-O* (1969) and created the series *The Magician* (1973).

Later credits include writing and producing work on *Dynasty*, miniseries such as *Sins* (1986) and *Seventh Avenue*, the film *Triumph of the Spirit* (1989), and ten episodes of *Murder, She Wrote* (1984) in the 1990s. He died in 2007.
