## Biography

Laurence George Luckinbill is an American actor, playwright and director. Born on 21 November 1934 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he studied at the University of Arkansas and earned an MFA in playwriting from the Catholic University of America. He made his Broadway debut in 1961 in *A Man for All Seasons* and has appeared in numerous stage productions.

Luckinbill is known for writing and performing one-man shows about historical figures including Theodore Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, Clarence Darrow and Lyndon B. Johnson. His film roles include Hank in *The Boys in the Band* (1970), Mr Mooney in *Cocktail* (1988) and Sybok in *Star Trek V: The Final Frontier* (1989). He has also worked extensively in television, with appearances in series such as *Columbo*, *Law & Order* and *Murder, She Wrote*. He is married to actress Lucie Arnaz.
