## Biography

Laurence N. Wolfe was a writer and mathematics teacher. He wrote the story for the *Star Trek* episode "The Ultimate Computer", first broadcast in 1968. The story was adapted into a teleplay by D.C. Fontana.

Wolfe later wrote the play *Sweet Victory* (1989), which centred on Clarence Darrow's final case. He was born on 4 November 1929 and died on 24 October 2017.
