## Biography

Laurie McCarthy is an American television writer and producer. She began her career as a writer on the soap opera *Loving* (1990–1995) before moving to primetime as a writer and story editor on *Beverly Hills, 90210* (1996–2000), where she later served as co-producer and co-executive producer.

McCarthy has written episodes of *Felicity* (2001–2002), *CSI: Miami* (2002–2003) and *Ghost Whisperer* (2007–2010). She created the series *Windfall* (2006) and co-created *Reign* (2013–2017), serving as executive producer and showrunner on the latter.
