She was born on 8 March 1980 in Munich and began her career as a child with a role in the 1991 film *Leise Schatten*. She trained with courses at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule and a workshop at the Michael Howard Studio in New York, and later completed a master's degree in philosophy, history and sociology. Wilson has appeared in more than sixty films and television productions. She is known for roles in *Æon Flux* (2005), *Deutschland 86* (2018) and *Deutschland 89* (2020) as Brigitte Winkelmann, *The Billion Dollar Code* (2021) and *Cassandra* (2025). In 2003 she received acting awards at the Tbilisi and San Sebastián film festivals for *Gun-Shy*, and in 2005 she won the Max Ophüls Prize for *Alone*.
