## Biography

Lawrence Miller was a production designer and art director who worked in film, television and theatre. His film credits as production designer include *Beethoven's 2nd* (1993), *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* (1992), *L.A. Story* (1991), *Doc Hollywood* (1991), *Gone Fishin'* (1997) and *Angus* (1995). He also served as art director on *The King of Comedy* (1982).

Miller began his career in stage design after studying at Carnegie-Mellon University. He taught stage and costume design at several institutions before moving to New York, where he designed for Broadway productions including *Nine* (1982), for which he received a Tony Award nomination for scenic design. He later worked on feature films and television projects. Miller died on 11 April 2009 in Los Angeles.
