## Biography

Laya Aiesha Lewis is an English actress. She was born on 14 May 1992 in Tooting, London, and grew up in Bristol, where she attended Fairfield Secondary School and Cotham School sixth form.

While in sixth form she made her television debut as Liv Malone in the fifth and sixth series of the E4 drama *Skins* (2011–2012), after being cast through open auditions held in Bristol. She has since appeared in guest roles in series including *Cuckoo* (2014), *Jekyll & Hyde* (2015), *Witless* (2016) and *Temple* (2021), and in the 2023 series *Queen Cleopatra* as Eiras. Her film work includes lead roles in the short films *Beverley* (2015), for which she received awards including Best Actress at the 2016 BUFF Awards, and *The Line* (2014).

Lewis graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2016 with a first-class BA in Media and Cultural Studies. She also works as a voiceover artist.
