Lee Philips, born Leon Friedman, was an American actor and television director. He began his career as an actor on Broadway and in films, including a starring role as Michael Rossi in the 1957 adaptation of *Peyton Place*.

From the late 1950s he focused primarily on directing, with credits on series including *The Dick Van Dyke Show* (1961), *The Andy Griffith Show* (1960), *Kung Fu* (1972), *The Waltons* (1972), *M*A*S*H* (1972) and *Diagnosis: Murder* (1993). He also directed numerous television films and miniseries, such as *The Girl Most Likely To...* (1973) and *Mae West* (1982), for which he received an Emmy nomination.

Philips was born on 10 January 1927 in New York City and died on 3 March 1999 in Brentwood, California.
