## Biography

Leigh Brown was an American writer and actress. She received a co-screenwriting credit, alongside Jean Shepherd and Bob Clark, for the 1983 film *A Christmas Story*, which was based on Shepherd's stories.

Brown also wrote the screenplay for the 1994 sequel *My Summer Story*. She had earlier worked in television as an assistant director on series including *American Playhouse* and appeared in small acting roles, including an uncredited part in *A Christmas Story*.

She was married to Jean Shepherd from 1977 until her death.
