## Biography

Leigh Janiak is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. She was born on 1 February 1980 in Ohio and studied at New York University and the University of Chicago.

Janiak made her feature directorial debut with the horror film *Honeymoon* (2014), which she also wrote. She is best known for directing and co-writing the *Fear Street* trilogy (*Fear Street: 1994*, *Fear Street: 1978* and *Fear Street: 1666*, all 2021). Her television directing credits include episodes of *Scream* (2015–2016), *Outcast* (2016), *Panic* (2021) and *The Staircase* (2022). She was married to filmmaker Ross Duffer from 2015 until their separation in 2024.
