We value that combination on television, though the writing around her is not always equally expressive. Lena Hall makes a character's posture part of the performance, alongside the voice. As Miss Audrey in *Snowpiercer* (2020), she brings physical expressiveness and singing that draws on both musical theatre and rock. We value those resources in a programme whose dialogue can become oppressively solemn. Her musical ability gives the character another way to express feeling, and gives us a reason to pay attention when the script is making attention harder work than it should be.
