## Biography

Lennard Pearce was an English actor who worked in theatre and television. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and appeared in stage productions over several decades, including work with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Pearce is best known for playing Edward 'Grandad' Trotter in the BBC sitcom *Only Fools and Horses* from its first series in 1981 until 1984. He also appeared as the Rector in an episode of *Hammer House of Horror* (1980) and in other television roles including *Shroud for a Nightingale* (1984) and *Crown Court* (1984).

Pearce died on 15 December 1984 in Archway, London.
