He played Sierra in the 1934 Western *Viva Villa!*, Signor Ferretti in *Phantom of the Opera* (1943), Father Joe in *Manhattan Melodrama* (1934), and the Chief of Police in *The Fugitive* (1947). Carrillo was best known for portraying Pancho, the loyal sidekick to the Cisco Kid, in a series of films from 1949 and the television series *The Cisco Kid* (1950–1956). Earlier in his career he worked as a vaudevillian and political cartoonist.
