Leon Rippy is an American actor born on 30 October 1949 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He began his career in regional theatre, founding and operating two theatre companies and appearing in more than seventy plays.

Rippy has worked with director Roland Emmerich on seven films, including *Stargate* (1994) and *The Patriot* (2000), in which he played John Billings. He is known for his recurring television roles as saloon owner Tom Nuttall on the HBO series *Deadwood* (2004–2006) and as Earl on *Saving Grace* (2007–2010). Other credits include *The Lone Ranger* (2013), *Under the Dome* (2013) and *11.22.63* (2016). He received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for ensemble performance in *Deadwood*.
