## Biography

Leonard Freeman was an American television writer and producer. He created the CBS crime drama series *Hawaii Five-O* (1968), which ran for twelve seasons. He also wrote the pilot episode and several others.

Freeman wrote episodes of *Route 66* and produced *The Untouchables*. He wrote the screenplay for the film *Hang 'Em High* (1968). He died in 1974 during the run of *Hawaii Five-O*. The 2010 series *Hawaii Five-0* credits him as the creator of the original.
