## Biography

Leopoldine Konstantin (born Leopoldine Eugenie Amelie Konstanti) was an Austrian actress. She made her stage debut in 1907 at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, appearing in Frank Wedekind's *Spring Awakening* and Shakespeare's *Romeo and Juliet*.

She performed in silent films from 1912 and later in sound films in Germany and Austria. After emigrating to the United States via Britain in the 1930s, she worked in a factory before securing her only American film role as Madame Sebastian in Alfred Hitchcock's *Notorious* (1946). She returned to Austria after the war and died in Vienna in 1965.
