He is known for film roles including Uncle Li in *The Blue Kite* (1994), Liu Sixth Uncle in *Shanghai Triad* (1995), Ying Zheng in *The Emperor and the Assassin* (1998), Mr Zhang in *Under the Hawthorn Tree* (2010), Li Peiji in *Back to 1942* (2012), and more recent parts such as Zhou Zhezhi in *The Wandering Earth II* (2023) and Ji Chang in *Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms* (2023).
