## Biography

Lila Lakshmanan is an Indian-French film editor. Born in 1935 in Jabalpur, she moved to France in the late 1950s. She began working in cinema after meeting Jean-Luc Godard, serving first as his assistant editor.

Her editing credits include *Contempt* (1963) and *The Carabineers* (1963), both directed by Godard, as well as sound editing on *Vivre sa vie* (1962). She is also credited with editing work on François Truffaut's *Jules et Jim* (1962). She studied at the Sorbonne.
