## Biography

Line Noro (born Aline Simone Noro) was a French stage and film actress. She was born on 22 February 1900 in Houdelaincourt, Meuse, and died on 4 November 1985 in Paris.

She worked in the theatre with Jacques Copeau, Charles Dullin and Louis Jouvet, and was a pensionnaire of the Comédie-Française from 1945 to 1966. In film she appeared in around fifty productions between the late 1920s and the mid-1950s, including *Pépé le Moko* (1937) as Inès, *The Well-Digger's Daughter* (1940) as Marie Mazel and *It Happened at the Inn* (1943) as Marie des Goupi.

She was married to the director André Berthomieu until his death in 1960. Sight problems led her to retire from stage and screen in the 1960s.
