## Biography

Lionel Lindon (2 September 1905 – 20 September 1971) was an American cinematographer. He began his career at Paramount Pictures as a camera assistant and made his debut as director of photography in 1943. He worked on numerous films for the studio before going freelance in 1950 and later contributed to television productions until his death.

Lindon received three Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography. He won the award for colour cinematography for *Around the World in 80 Days* (1956). Among his other credits are *Going My Way* (1944), for which he was nominated, *The Blue Dahlia* (1946), *Destination Moon* (1950), *I Want to Live!* (1958), *The Manchurian Candidate* (1962), *The Munsters* (1964), *Grand Prix* (1966) and *The Trouble with Angels* (1966). He was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
