## Biography

Lisa Bruce is an American film producer. She was born in Monterey, California, and studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara and New York University, where she earned an MFA. She began producing in 1992, co-producing the independent film *Pen Pals* with her NYU professor Robert Nickson.

Bruce has produced or executive-produced numerous feature films. She is best known for her work on *The Theory of Everything* (2014), for which she shared a BAFTA Award for Best British Film, and *Darkest Hour* (2017). Other credits include *No Strings Attached* (2011), *Case 39* (2009), *A Lot Like Love* (2005) and *The Emperor's Club* (2002). She has also produced television films such as *Mary and Martha* (2013) and *Walkout* (2006).
