## Biography

Lisa Gunning is a British film editor and director. She graduated from University College London with a degree in English and began her career in the 1990s editing commercials. In 1998 she met director Anthony Minghella while working on a Comic Relief spot, leading to a long collaboration that included editing his feature *Breaking and Entering* (2006) and the pilot for the television series *The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency*.

Gunning has edited features including *Killshot* (2008), *Nowhere Boy* (2009), *Salmon Fishing in the Yemen* (2011), *Seven Psychopaths* (2012) and *Fifty Shades of Grey* (2015). She has also directed short films, music videos and episodes of television series such as *The Power* (2021) and *Black Doves* (2024). In 2013–2014 she wrote, directed and edited a film based on stories from Goldfrapp’s album *Tales of Us*.
