## Biography

Lloyd Ahern Sr. (born Lloyd George Ahern) was an American cinematographer. He began his career in the camera department at Twentieth Century-Fox and advanced to director of photography on feature films and television series.

His credits include director of photography on *Miracle on 34th Street* (1947), *Cry of the City* (1948), *Bewitched* (1964), *The Fugitive* (1963), *Adam-12* (1968) and *The Love Boat* (1977–1978). He also worked as a camera operator on films such as *My Darling Clementine* (1946) and *Laura* (1944).

Ahern won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series and received two further nominations, for work on *The 20th Century-Fox Hour*, *Columbo* and *The Love Boat*. He was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. His son, Lloyd Ahern II, also became a cinematographer.
