Lloyd Knechtel (1907–1971) was a Canadian-born cinematographer and special-effects artist who worked in Hollywood from the late 1920s. He contributed to photography and optical effects at studios including RKO and was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.

His credits include special effects on *What Price Hollywood?* (1932) and *Cimarron* (1931), and photography on *The Mortal Storm* (1940). He also worked on second-unit photography for *Rebecca* (1940) and served as director of photography on later films such as *Wild Youth* (1960).
