## Biography

Lonny Price (born 9 March 1959) is an American actor, director and writer, primarily in theatre. He grew up in New York and attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and briefly the Juilliard School.

Price began his career as an actor on Broadway in the original production of *Merrily We Roll Along* (1981) and in the film *Dirty Dancing* (1987). As a director he has worked extensively with the New York Philharmonic on concert productions of Stephen Sondheim musicals, including *Sweeney Todd* (2000) and *Passion*, both of which earned him Emmy Awards. His episodic television credits include five episodes of *Desperate Housewives* (2010–2011) and three of *2 Broke Girls* (2012–2016). On Broadway he directed revivals of *Sunset Boulevard* (2017) and *Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill* (2014), and co-wrote the book for *A Class Act* (2001), for which he received a Tony Award nomination.
