## Biography

Lorayne Brox (born Eunice Brock) was an American singer and actress, the eldest of the Brox Sisters vocal trio. Born on 11 November 1901 in Riverton, Iowa, she died on 14 June 1993 in Los Angeles, California.

With sisters Bobbe (born Josephine) and Patricia (born Kathleen), she began performing in vaudeville in the 1910s before achieving success on Broadway in Irving Berlin revues from 1921. The family name Brock was altered to Brox for stage use.

The trio appeared in early sound films, including *The Hollywood Revue of 1929*, in which they performed as themselves, and *King of Jazz* (1930).
