## Biography

Lou Cutell was an American actor. Born in New York City on 6 October 1930, he moved with his family to Los Angeles and studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career on Broadway in the 1961 musical *The Young Abe Lincoln* and made his television debut in 1964 on *The Dick Van Dyke Show*.

Cutell appeared in numerous films and television series over five decades, including *Little Big Man* (1970) as the Deacon, *Young Frankenstein* (1974), *Pee-wee's Big Adventure* (1985) as Amazing Larry, *Honey, I Shrunk the Kids* (1989) as Dr Brainard, *Seinfeld* (1995) as Dr Howard Cooperman, *Curb Your Enthusiasm* as Leo Funkhouser, *Wedding Crashers* (2005) and *Grey's Anatomy* (2015) as Abe. He also wrote for and appeared in stage productions. He died in Los Angeles on 21 November 2021.
