## Biography

Louis D. Lighton was an American screenwriter and producer. He wrote or co-wrote the screenplays for around 40 films between 1920 and 1927, including *It* (1927) and *Wings* (1927), the latter co-written with his wife, screenwriter Hope Loring. He later produced around 30 films between 1928 and 1951.

Among his production credits are *The Lives of a Bengal Lancer* (1935), *Captains Courageous* (1937), *Test Pilot* (1938), *A Tree Grows in Brooklyn* (1945), *Anna and the King of Siam* (1946) and *No Highway in the Sky* (1951). Lighton was born in Florence, Nebraska, and died in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
