## Biography

Lowell Peterson is an American cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers. He has served as director of photography on numerous television series, including *Six Feet Under* (2004), *Desperate Housewives* (2005–2012) and *Jane the Virgin* (2014–2019).

He studied art and architecture at Yale University and film at UCLA. Peterson began his career as a camera assistant on series such as *Hawaii Five-O* and worked as a camera operator on *Star Trek: The Next Generation* before advancing to director of photography, starting with the final season of *Knots Landing*.

Peterson received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series for his work on *Six Feet Under* and was awarded the ASC Career Achievement in Television Award in 2015.
