## Biography

Luc Montpellier is a Canadian cinematographer. He is a graduate of Ryerson University’s film programme and a member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers. He began his career in music videos and short films before moving into features.

Montpellier has had a long collaboration with director Sarah Polley, serving as cinematographer on her short *I Shout Love* (2001) and the features *Away from Her* (2007), *Take This Waltz* (2011) and *Women Talking* (2022). His other credits include *Tales from the Loop* (2020) and the series *IT: Welcome to Derry* (2025). He has received a Gemini Award for *Hemingway vs. Callaghan* (2003) and a Canadian Society of Cinematographers award for the short *Soul Cages* (2000), as well as a Canadian Screen Award nomination for *It Was You Charlie* (2013).
