## Biography

Lucille Bliss (also credited as Lucille Theresa Bliss) was an American actress and voice artist. A New York City native, she began in old-time radio before moving into animation and television.

Her first major film credit was voicing the stepsister Anastasia in Walt Disney's *Cinderella* (1950). She later provided voices for characters including Crusader Rabbit (the lead in the first made-for-television cartoon series), Smurfette in *The Smurfs* (1981), and Ms. Bitters in *Invader ZIM* (2001). Other film roles include voices in *Alice in Wonderland* (1951), *One Hundred and One Dalmatians* (1961), *The Secret of NIMH* (1982) and *Robots* (2005).

Bliss received a Young Artist Award lifetime achievement honour in 2000 for her work on *Cinderella* and a Winsor McCay Award from the International Animated Film Society.
