## Biography

Lucille Lund was an American actress. Born in Buckley, Washington, she studied drama at Northwestern University and won a nationwide beauty and talent contest in 1933 that led to a contract with Universal Pictures.

She appeared in around thirty films between 1933 and 1939, most notably as Karen in the horror film *The Black Cat* (1934), opposite Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. She was selected as a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1934 and also appeared in westerns such as *Range Warfare* (1935) and comedies including *Gold Diggers of 1933* (1933, uncredited).

In 1937 she married radio producer and writer Kenneth Higgins; they had two daughters. Lund retired from acting in 1939.
