Stipetić has served as producer or in production roles on nearly all of Herzog’s films since the early 1970s, beginning with production management on *Aguirre, the Wrath of God* (1972). He produced *Fitzcarraldo* (1982) and later works including *Cobra Verde* (1987), *Lessons of Darkness* (1992), *Little Dieter Needs to Fly* (1997), *My Best Fiend* (1999), *Import/Export* (2007), *Into the Inferno* (2016), *Meeting Gorbachev* (2019) and *Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds* (2020). He is the long-standing head of Werner Herzog Filmproduktion and has also overseen the associated Werner Herzog Foundation.

In 1987 Stipetić shared the Bavarian Film Prize producer award with his half-brother.
