## Biography

Lucy Beaumont (born Lucy Emily Pinkstone, 18 May 1869 – 24 April 1937) was an English actress of the stage and screen. Born in Bristol, she was educated at a young ladies' college in Bath, Somerset. She appeared on Broadway in productions including *My Lady's Dress* (1914–15), *Quinneys* and *Little Lady in Blue* (1916).

Beaumont played mostly mother roles in films. Her credits include *The Crowd* (1928) as Mary's Mother, *The Devil-Doll* (1936) as Madame Lavond and *A Free Soul* (1931) as Grandma Ashe. Other films were *The Greater Glory* (1926), *Torrent* (1926), *The Beloved Rogue* (1927), *Resurrection* (1927) and *Maid of Salem* (1937), her final motion picture. Her last professional appearance was on the Robert L. Ripley radio programme in April 1937.
