## Biography

Lucy Gallardo (born Lucía Elida Cardarelli) was an Argentine-born Mexican actress. She began her career in Argentina with the 1949 films *Todo un héroe* and *Ángeles sin uniforme*, then moved to Mexico in 1950. Her first Mexican film was *De carne somos* (1955).

She appeared in numerous Mexican films, telenovelas and stage productions. Gallardo is known for her role as Lucía de Nóbile in Luis Buñuel’s *The Exterminating Angel* (1962), opposite her husband, the actor Enrique Rambal. She later worked as a screenwriter for telenovelas and spent her final years in Los Angeles, where she appeared in the 2005 film *How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer*.
