## Biography

Luis de Pablo (28 January 1930 – 10 October 2021) was a Spanish composer of contemporary classical music. Born in Bilbao, he studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid before turning to composition, largely self-taught but with studies in Paris and attendance at the Darmstadt courses.

He composed the scores for several Spanish films of the 1960s and 1970s, including *The Hunt* (1966), *Peppermint Frappé* (1967), *Anna and the Wolves* (1973) and *The Spirit of the Beehive* (1973). In parallel he founded ensembles and concert series to promote modern music in Spain, published writings on the Second Viennese School, and received the Premio Nacional de Música.
