Luis Tosar is a Spanish actor from Galicia. He was born on 13 October 1971 in Lugo and began his career in Galician television and short films before making his feature debut in *Atilano for President* (1998).

He gained recognition for roles in *Common Wealth* (2000), *Mondays in the Sun* (2002) and *Take My Eyes* (2003). His performance as Malamadre in *Cell 211* (2009) marked a turning point, leading to prominent parts in thrillers such as *Sleep Tight* (2011), *Retribution* (2015) and *The Vault* (2021).

Tosar appeared in the American film *Miami Vice* (2006) as Arcángel de Jesús Montoya and has received three Goya Awards.
