## Biography

Lyla Oliver was a television writer and producer. She began her career in the early 1980s with writing credits on series including *Coach* (1989) and *Empty Nest* (1988), sometimes credited as Lyla Oliver Noah.

She contributed as a writer to *Joan of Arcadia* (2003) and wrote 54 episodes of *Judging Amy* (1999–2004), where she also served as producer and story editor. Later credits include five episodes of *Bones* (2007–2013) and nine episodes of *Madam Secretary* (2014), on which she also worked as a producer.

Oliver died on 18 April 2021.
