## Biography

Madhav Agasti is a costume designer and tailor who has worked on more than 350 Hindi films. His credits include *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge* (1995), *Andaz Apna Apna* (1994), *Hera Pheri* (2000), *Koyla* (1997), *Baadshah* (1999), *Nayak: The Real Hero* (2001), *Hulchul* (2004), *Aitraaz* (2004) and *36 China Town* (2006). He is also credited with the costume for the character Mogambo in *Mr. India* (1987).

Agasti opened a tailoring shop in Dadar, Mumbai, in 1975. He has designed costumes for numerous actors and has also created clothing for Indian politicians including Bal Thackeray, P. V. Narasimha Rao and Pranab Mukherjee. In 2025 he published a memoir, *Stitching Stardom: For Icons, On and Off Screen*.
